Well good grief how did it already get to be Wednesday? This week is flying! Last night for dinner we did Ahi. I love Ahi tuna steaks. But Keith and I differ substantially at how we like it prepared! I want mine one step up from raw, whereas Keith wants his cooked through. What about you?
How do you Ahi?
Ahi Goodness
WASABI TUNA
- 2 ahi tuna steaks
- 1 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon wasabi powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
Melt butter in a small casserole dish (in a microwave).
Place tuna steaks into the melted butter and coat all sides.
In a small bowl, mix together wasabi powder, coarse black pepper and granulated garlic powder.
Sprinkle tuna steaks with wasabi mixture on all sides and lightly rub into the steaks with your fingers.
Grill or pan fry to your liking!

yum! this picture made me drool…I love raw ahi too. they have a great ahi salad at Rock Bottom if you have one near you. It’s sliced thin and just barely seared on the outside. Delish!
I can’t do raw fish. I even order my salmon well done. I have no clue about the trivia, so I’ll go with McDonald’s.

I vote MacDonald’s. I have to eat my fish cooked through. Smoked salmon is as raw as I can get. Can’t even eat sushi/sashimi with raw fish. I wish I could say it’s the texture, but I can’t even bring myself to try it – it just grosses me out! Glad you enjoy it – I hear it’s wonderful!

Congratulations on qualifying for your marathon. I also ran the 3M half marathon, although I am more of a novice runner 🙂 I was wondering what your workouts look like after a run like that? I know you did the elliptical the other day, but when do you start running again?

Third, on weeks after a run I try to take it easy from running. I usually hate recovery weeks but I know my body needs it. I try to lay off the running and I do a lot of stretching!! On a normal week I typically log about 55-60 miles but this week I will probably only get in about 25-30. Hope this helps!!

mmm… I like ahi tuna! But I’m terrified of preparing fish. I have no idea why, but I just can’t do it! It turns out awful every time…

Me and Mike went to Hawaii many years ago and we ate Seared Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Mayonaise at the hotel bar EVERY night! We love it just the way you have it cooked there, Kelly. But we are big fans of sushi too. I miss it oh so much right now…4 weeks left and counting!

Those tuna steaks are actually from Whole Foods…I picked them up the other day for a splurge! We love ahi…reminds me of our honeymoon in hawaii!

While I don’t really eat seafood, I have had bites of ahi tuna. Really delicious, and yours looks SO good.
YUM! I love ahi tuna it looks perfect!!! hmmm as for the trivia I would go with wendys! i really have no idea though! I got this amazing seasoning from TJ max that is so delicious on ahi tuna steaks, it has sesame seeds and salt and spicyness in there, it is so beautiful and delicious!!
