It Was A Meatloaf Kind of Night…

It was Meatloaf night last night in the Bruneman casa! I served it with some cheesy au gratin potatoes and broccoli. Keith was a happy man with that in his belly! Truth? I RARELY crave meat so usually when Keith wants his meat I opt for something else. So last night I served myself a fillet of Orange Ruffy (yes I could probably eat Orange Ruffy every night for the rest of my life and die happy!) What can I say? I am a fish girl! 🙂

Get Yoked Meatloaf

This morning has been good…I ran 10 miles at an EASY 8:40/pace because truthfully I am SORE (in a FABULOUS way)from Body Pump yesterday! I am going to be logging 2 workouts a day on Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from now on so I gotta suck it up! (Who am I kidding…you know I love it!!!) Tuesdays and Thursdays I will do my run in the early morning and then head to Body Pump mid-morning and then on Fridays I will do my morning run and then I am going to try out this water class called H2O Athletic Training. So we’ll see how that goes. I will keep you posted! I am just trying to spice up my routines but I will not give up my runs so this is as good as it gets people! I love logging my 55-60 miles a week and without it I would be a sad blogger…but this will be fun to add in some extra stuff and especially get the weights in! Plus how fun is water?! Um…yeah…all about it! 🙂

Do you do 2-day workouts? If so, what do they look like?

So it is no secret that I LOVE my compression socks! Well the people over at CEP are offering a sale! SWEET! Use coupon code ‘ceplove’ to save an extra 10% off now thru February 28th! 1. Sounds like Body Pump is a winner!!! I don’t do 2-a-days often. If I do, it’s been only because I decided to do a pilates or yoga workout in the afternoon to stretch. I like to just get it all done if I can. Of course, I have found that if you do one workout early enough, by mid-morning you’ve mostly forgotten you even did it (or that’s me anyway)!

  2. 2-a-days…I just started up again. Spin in the morning, run at night on M/W and then swim in the morning (when above 40 degrees…so I haven’t been in 2 weeks!), weights in the afternoon T/Th. TOUGH days. I’m glad you’re back to Body Pump, I remember how much you LOVED that class!! The meatloaf looks yummers!

  3. Au gratin potatoes sound so good, but I’m with you on fish v. meatloaf. I never ever do two workouts in a day. Since I can’t get up any earlier (or my body will stop functioning) and I’m chained to a desk from 8 to 5, I can only squeeze in one workout before I eat and go to bed. But I think it’s so great you do it and love it!

  4. I’m really thinking I need compression socks in my life… Alot of friends have talked about how much they help with the run!

Sounds like they’re getting added to the top of my running gear wish list!

  5. I love days when I can squeeze in 2 workouts. It’s tough to get in a lengthy workout with a 4-month old because her attention span in the ExerSaucer/swing/bouncey seat/other baby entertainment method is pretty limited. Some days I’ll run at the gym and then do strength later in the day at home if she’s getting cranky. Or, I do yoga on mornings when I’m before she is and then do something more intense later in the day.

  6. I’ve been dying recently to make a vegan meatloaf! I need to get the ingredients.

  7. That water class sounds like fun!!

  8. BodyPump IS a winner. I might be obsessed.

Yep, I do 2-a-days once or twice a week, but it’s usually two mid-distance runs. I’m not exercise-gadgety, but not because they aren’t awesome… I just never have time to go get them!

You’re so vivacious today — I love it.

  9. On days I strength trained or did yoga, I used to do an hour of cardio in the morning and then the weights or yoga in the evening. I’ve recently switched everything to the evening though. It’s much more time efficient.

  10. My husband would LOVE for me to make him meatloaf!!

I use to have days where I would do two workouts, but with a baby, its challenging. The jogging stroller is a life saver!

  11. I LOVE 2-adays! I do them 4-5 times a week. MWF, early bike on my trainer and then running or stairs or swim in the pm. Sunday, long run in the am and long swim in the pm. They’re great because you can give 100% on each one! Plus, they make me stronger and faster!

  12. I love compression socks and wear them dailly…even to work. No shame in my game!

  13. I love my Garmy! I have a Forerunner 305 and love that uses GPS to tell you your pace and it’s been great for keeping my runs sloooowed down for marathon training. My calves have been sore, do you think compression socks would be helpful??

  14. LOVE water!! I do double workouts about 3x a week also, and usually do my run in the morning and swim or strength train at night…I love it! Being sore is such a good feeling 😉 hehe, I think we might be crazy! Drink a ton of water between your workouts, especially on fridays when your in the pool because you body wont sense that you are sweating and it will have a hard time telling you that you’re dehydrated! Have a great wednesday lovely chica!!!
    xoxo!

    • That’s really great advice. I had to learn the hard way on that one. I could never figure out why i felt so sick to my tummy on days that I swam. Total dehydration! It’s hard to judge, though, after spending an hour in the pool!

  15. An easy 10 mile run. There is NO SUCH THING LOL! I’ll work up to it 😉 My pace will be more like 12:00 but I got to start somewhere.

    That meatloaf looks so good!

  16. 55-60 miles per week?! That is amazing. I wish I could do that much…but my body can’t handle that much running…I race so much better when I stick around 30-35. Otherwise I start getting injured.

Right now, I’m going to be working into 3 two-a-days per week…at the height of IM training, it’s going to be more like 5 two-a-days per week.

I really need to try body pump…for real.

And finally, I swear by my forerunner…and my compression tights. And my foam roller. And a medicine ball. Ok, I’m a gadget junkie…

  17. I love body pump, I always feel great after! The only two-a-days I do are my yoga and run days. You are seriously an inspiration!

  18. I can’t work out w/o my HRM. I love it!

  19. I can’t imagine doing 2-a-days, but I would love to have the time for it once in a while just to add some variety! Between taking classes and working 9-5, I’m lucky if I see my sneakers 3-4 times per week 😦

  20. thanks for the link for compression socks, i think i’ll snag a pair!

  21. Meatloaf does sound good! I always remember it being talked about as a gross thing, then my mom made it and I LOVED it!

I could definitely use a pair of compression socks. thanks for the link!!

  22. I don’t do 2 a days, unless I split my big workout into 2 (if I only have 45 min or so in the morning, I’ll finish that evening). You are a badass, my friend!

I am also SORE this morning. I’ve gone back to weights at the gym…turns out I may have been slacking on the weights when I lift at home…. (blushes)

And, Keith, if you are reading this – you are one lucky man to have a wife who makes you meatloaf, even though she isn’t eating it!

  23. yes, i love the fabulous body pump sore!

  24. I don’t do two workouts perse… but I have days that I go to the gym from 7:30 – 11:30

  25. You are so motivated… I don’t think I could ever do the 2day workouts. I have a hard enough time doing one haha! And I can’t believe you turned up the meatloaf! It looks delicious! 🙂

  26. Meatloaf sounds really good. I haven’t had it in ages. I’m going to try and find out how my mom used to make it when I was growing up.

  27. Yep, I do two-a-day workouts—usually when I know I’ll have to skip a workout another day during the week. Thurs I usually do my fave spinning class and yoga afterwards. Other days I’ll do a 4-5 mile run on the treadmill, then yoga.

Question, what is the best remedy for soreness? Last Thursday I did a set of squat jumps: 30 sec/30 sec rest 6x, and I’m STILL sore. Very sore. Today was the first day I could walk down stairs without severe pain. Is this normal?!

    http://www.firednfabulous.blogspot.com/

    • The BEST remedy for soreness is to keep moving! Lactic acid has filled up the small muscle tears that occured when working out (totally normal) and in order to get that acid out your muscles need to MOVE! Not doin anything will just delay the process. So since you were SO sore walking or light cardio would have been my reccomendation. I think it is GOOD to be sore after a workout but not in “SEVERE PAIN” so I would say you probably pushed it a little hard and nest time maybe don’t do it 6 times but start with 4….hope it gets better! 🙂

  28. Sometimes I will do a “shakeout run” a few hours before a speed workout. I think it gets the junk out of my legs! I love compression socks too 🙂

  29. Do they help with soreness? No baked ketchup on our meatloaf??

    • They definitely help with soreness! They are great! As for the meatloaf we always add it later because we like different stuff on top. I love ketchup or BBQ sauce and Keith likes A1. haha!

  30. I used to do 2 a day workouts in high school/college and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. Unfortunately, with a stupid full time job, I just can’t muster the energy to do it twice. I’m a little jealous of you! Mine were usually weight lifting, and then a sports practice (which was sometimes just running). Always early morning, then afternoon.

  31. I typically do 2 workouts a day, but one of them is yoga. I do a 45min-hour run or other cardio in the am and yoga at lunch or afternoon 5 or 6 days a week. I love the variation and yoga forces me to stretch.
