Turkey Leg Tuesday!!

Good morning everyone! First I have to start by saying THANK YOU for all the kind comments everyone gave me yesterday on my Breaking Up Is Hard To Do post. I sincerely appreciate all your advice and it has given me some things to really think about. But the simple fact that so many of you cared enough to send your warm thoughts, wishes and advice really meant a lot! 🙂

This morning has started out quite nice. I did a 11 miles averaging about 8:30 minute pace. I actually felt like I could have just kept on going but time was a factor and I had to stop. I hate when I get in a groove and want to keep going but time just won’t allow it! Ugh! Oh well….there’s always another day! 🙂

So dinner last night was interesting for sure! Keith wanted turkey legs! YES! So I found some lean smoked turkey legs at HEB for him! I simply roasted them in oven for 15-20 minutes at 350 until they were heated through! I served it with a side of steamed zucchini and some maple baked beans! It was a meal fit for a fair! I felt like all we needed was some cotton candy to make it official! haha! I have actually embarked on a “meatless monday” journey with Lisa so I did not partake in the turkey leg madness! I had a Boca stuffed bell pepper! It was YUMMAY!! This is actually a Hungry Girl Recipe (you can find it here) and the only thing I did different was use a green bell versus a red (it was what I had on hand)

Meatless Monday Success!

Oh and here is Keith’s “manly meal”….haha!

  4. I think my husband would love Keith. He also believes in manly meals (and salad is not one of those no matter how much I beg).

Those cookies look awesome, by the way. Not that you can go wrong with cookies!

  5. turkey legs…that is random.

i missed your post on the breaking up thing. had to go over it…sorry about that though. when i cant stand to be someone’s friend i just cut them off. there’s no easy way to do it.

  6. Mmmm . . . that stuffed bell pepper looks AWESOME!

  7. I’m jealous – I’ve been wanting to try those cookies for FOREVER!

only “new” product I’ve tried recently (to the best of my knowledge) is the new Luna protein bars.. I think I had cookie dough? Honestly, it was like a candy bar. And it was little. And I don’t really like chocolate at all actually so I don’t know what I was expecting.

    • I have actually heard really bad things about the new Luna protein bars! I haven’t tried them myself although after everyone’s reaction I am not in any hurry!

  8. Your husband’s plate looks like something my husband would eat…

Your stuff pepper looks good though… I guess I missed it somehow are you doing meatless Mondays? Why did you decide to do that?

    • Oh I didn’t annouce it. I guess I should have. I read on Lisa’s blog that she was doing meatless mondays and she invited anyone to join her…so I told her I would do it too!

  9. 11 miles at that pace? Can I say ROCKSTAR??? You inspire me every day. I hope you know that. I had your site open and everyone said, ‘Oh yum…stuffed peppers!’ I’ve sent them all the link. 😉

  10. meatless monday ow ow! love it!

  11. all you need is some roasted corn on the cob for Keith’s meal and its like the TEXAS state fair paper plate meal. WOO HOO!

  12. I’ve never had a turkey leg at a fair…..why have meat when you can have deep fried twinkies?!?

clearly we see where my priorities are!

  13. Lol I love the “man meal” Dark meat is the only type of poultry I’ll eat

  14. I am obsessed with TJ’s Mochi lately! My roomie recommended them and they are soooo good. Asian ice cream surrounded by a sort of dough. Unique and delish!

  17. This post is so visually appealing. I’m not gonna lie – I’m diggin’ the turkey leg and beans…I love beans with meat and veggies …I stand up at the counter and eat them out of the can…but that’s another topic….those cookies look delish !

  18. Dear Nutridel, I sure would like to try those! Love, EE

Oh, hi, Kelly. 😉 Love your post today! Great work on the peppers. I love stuffed peppers…mmm.

Turkey legs will ALWAYS remind me of the State Fair for some reason, but good memories.

  19. Yuuummmmmmmm (not about the turkey leg-no offense, I’m just weird.) –the veggie burger look soooo good! I definitely want to try that recipe our.

That’s awesome that people send you things to review. I’d be royally screwed if companies started sending me cookies–though I am totally experienced enough to pick out a quality cookie!

  20. lol I LOVE the man meal!! Its so nice that you made him a separate meal, granted Im not exactly the most accomodating person, but Ive never been willing to make my boyfriend something different than what Im eating. haha I would be a HORRIBLE wife!!

    That stuffed pepper looks delicious!

    • You are NOT a horrible wife!! haha! It is just that my husband believes that if their isn’t meat on his plate then it isn’t a meal!

  21. hahaha love the man meal! turkey legs are SOOO GOOD!!
    so does your meal!

  22. Oh yeah, i totally hate when I have to STOP running after 11 miles! LOL 😉

  25. You are a running machine! I couldn’t do three miles at that pace.

Oh, I keep meaning to tell you that I love your photo! And I just added you to my blogroll…hope that’s ok! 😀

  26. 11 miles! Holy wow.

This may sound weird, but only a few weeks ago I tried mango. Never had it before! I am now addicted.

  27. I’ve been trying TONS of Newman’s Own Organic products – probably too much but they are so good! I mean, they are cookies of course they are going to be good right? Lol. I want to try those Nutridel cookies. They seem like they would have a nice crunch to them!

  28. Those nutridel cookies look good – where can you buy them? I recently tried a Clif fruit and nut bar (raspberry) – it was good, but not as good as a lara bar!
